We Urgently Need Your Help Once Again

We are requesting your support in our on-going efforts to tackle the growing challenge of FOOD INSECURITY that has been with us since the start of the pandemic. After two years, the situation has worsened as inflation places significant upward pressure on food prices that many families cannot afford. Families have cut back on food purchases and in many cases have relied on food banks to supplement basic food necessities.

As we are currently making plans to help those in our community who might otherwise go hungry, we are reaching out to seek your financial assistance to make this possible. At a time when many people are immune from the ravages of an economic downturn, others are feeling the pain of poverty and misfortune.

Last Year’s – Fall 2021 – Donation Campaign

We supported three local food banks with the funds donated in response to our donation campaign. In addition, we donated goods to a local home for single mothers. Your kindness and generosity have made a difference to the lives of many families and we thank you. Following is an extract from a thank you letter received from a food bank that we supported:

“Your donation is helping us keep up with the need our Food Bank has experienced after the pandemic hit in 2020. We used to serve about 75 clients each week, including about 25 clients from households of three or more. Now we are serving about 250 clients, including 140 households of three or more.”

Our 2022 Campaign Objective: $10,000 The fundraising goal for this year’s campaign is $10,000. Can we count on your support toward reaching this critical goal? Any donation, no matter how large or small, will make a difference. People like yourself are the reason Kiwanis has been able to help our community and we need your help again in this time of greatest need.

We are asking you to consider making a tax-deductible donation to our Foundation’s COVID-19 Recovery Fund. Our Foundation is a registered charity (CRA #119240828 RR0001).
